The Tim Ferriss of Meal Prep
One man's quest to live the 4 hour workweek dream running a meal delivery business.
One of Bottle’s OG customers was a solopreneur who ran a $10k per month meal prep business in 4-6 hours per week.
The owner, a retired corporate operations executive with a passion for health and wellness, saw an opportunity to feed his community and do it super efficiently.
To me, he was the Tim Ferriss of Meal Prep. An owner on a mission to optimize every aspect of his business.
This process-driven entrepreneur had a system for everything.
Ordering, production sheets, labels, and texting were mostly automated through Bottle
Of course, food procurement, cooking and delivery were also heavily automated with different processes. Full disclosure, he did have help in the kitchen, but even his kitchen operations were very well organized.
Recently, I’ve been thinking about system-driven meal delivery and what lessons can be learned from high output owners.
So I want to know, how can we collectively lead the charge to save meal delivery owners hours (maybe days?) each month through knowledge sharing and open sourced tools?
On that note, I’m eager to learn about systems that work for you. So if you want to share and help the community, reply back and let’s talk systems.

Mark Sisson, founder of Primal Kitchen and Mark’s Daily Apple, went on the How I Built This Podcast to talk about building Primal Kitchen. Mark is a great example of leveraging a personal brand to build and distribute a food product. I really enjoyed hearing how Mark built Primal Kitchen with a small team and focused on being lean. On Deck: IRL Owner Roundtable!!!!
We’re hosting our first local meal delivery roundtable in early May! We’ll be coming to a city and meeting with local owners to collaborate and share tips. We’ll also be bringing in a few expert speakers to share growth and operations strategy. So reply back if you want more details and have interest in joining a future event, as we’re still deciding which city to choose based on interest.
